A chance to experience two extremes of India; one renowned for its incredible temples and the other for its pristine nature and stunning beaches. Tamil Nadu boasts centuries of fascinating history and monuments left behind by three major dynasties; the Cholas, Pallavas and Vijayanagars. Towering temples bustling with devotees dominate the flat landscape.

Kerala, covering the colonial port city of Cochin, the tea plantations of Munnar, a walk in the wild with tribal trackers in Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary, the picturesque backwaters of Kerala where cultivation is done below sea-level and the famous Kovalam Beach.

Karnataka, the eighth largest state in India has been ranked as the fifth most popular state in the country for tourism. It is home to 507 of the 3600 centrally protected monuments in India, the largest number after Uttar Pradesh.The State Directorate of Archaeology and Museums protects an additional 752 monuments and another 25,000 monuments are yet to receive

Itinerary

Day 1Fly to Chennai – Mahabalipuram (55 Kms / 1 Hr)

Today Traditional welcome on arrival in Cochin, Tornado India office executive will meet you at the airport and will escort you to the preferred hotel.

Visit some outstanding seaside monuments and Pancha Rathas, the famous Shore Temples. Visit a crocodile bank and in evening explore the magnificent open-air spectacular carvings “Descent of the Ganges” also known as ‘Arjuna’s Penance’.

Day 2Kanchipuram – Mahabalipuram (65 Kms/ 1.5 Hrs)

Day excursion to Kanchipuram, a temple town with magnificent temples and is ancient centre of learning. It is famous for its delicate hand-woven silk fabrics. We visit a sari weaving centre to see how gold thread is transformed into beautiful patterns.

Day 3Mahabalipuram - Pondicherry (165 Kms / 4 Hrs)

Transfer along the coast to the former French colony. Visit to the yoga and spiritual centre of Sri Aurobindo Ashram, and some more time at leisure to explore this beautiful city.

Day 4Drive Trichy/Tanjore (235 Kms / 5.5 Hrs)

In Thanjavur, visit the UNESCO World Heritage Brihadeeswara Temple, and discover the architecture of the Chola Empire. In Trichy, climb the Rock Fortress or visit the Srirangam and gaze over the largest temple complex in the world.

Day 5Tanjore - Madurai (165 Kms / 4 Hrs)

With your private guide, enjoy a tour of this magnificent temple town. Visit the Thirumalai Nayak Palace and the huge 1,000 pillared Meenakshi temple. Visit city’s bustling bazaars in Madurai and evening return to the temple to witness a puja ceremony.

Day 6Madurai – Periyar (140 Kms / 3 Hrs)

Drive to Periyar. With a local guide, explore a spice plantation to see how spices are grown and harvested. Enjoy a scenic wildlife boat cruise in Periyar – a great opportunity to spot wild elephants, gaur and deer

Day 7Periyar – Munnar (130 Kms / 4 Hrs)

Morning go for a long walk around periyar. Around noon, we drive through plantations of spice, tea, rubber and coffee to Munnar.

Day 8Munnar

Visit Rajamally (home of an endangered species of goat called Nilgiri Thar), Visit Tea plantations, Sample meter long tea, trek through the local landscape and evening to relax.

Day 9Alleppey - Backwater Cruise (150 Kms/ 4 Hrs)

Today Drive to Alleppey for a night aboard a private rice barge, a traditional Kerala houseboat, journeying through the scenic backwaters that fringe the coast. Enjoy the nature bliss and see village life passing by from your backwater cruise

Day 10Cochin (65 Kms/ 2 Hrs)

Tailor made sightseeing tour in Kochi visiting many of the city’s historic sights. In evening enjoy a Kathakali dance performance performed by men and noted for elaborate make-up and costumes.

Day 11Cochin – Bangalore - Mysore (280 Kms / 4 Hrs)

Fly to Bangalore and drive to Mysore. En route visit Srirangapatna, the island fortress of the legendary warrior king Tipu Sultan and visit Daria Daulat Bagh, the king’s summer palace and favorite retreat.

Day 12Mysore – Sravanabenagola - Hasan (120 km / 3 Hrs)

Morning visit the famous Mysore Palace. Drive to Hasan and en-route visit Shravanabelgola.

Day 13Hassan – Halebid – Belur - Hampi (290 Kms / 5 Hrs)

Long day today with drive to Hampi. En- route visit & Helebid & Belur famous for magnificent Hoysala Temple Complex. Continue drive to Hampi

Day 14Hampi

Explore this UNESCO World Heritage site throughout the day, walking among the ruins of fabulous stone statues, carved pillars, Sacred Center , Virupaksha Temple and Riverside Ruins. Enjoy light show during evening.

Day 15Badami (175 Kms / 4.5 Hrs)

Drive to Badami to visit magnificent rock-cut cave temples and Badami fort. Evening at leisure.

Day 16Badami – Goa (375 Kms / 7-8 Hrs)

Last day of drive today before we make it to beach paradise Goa.

Day 17 - 20Goa

On the Arabian Sea, Goa is a glorious and casual beach resort on India’s west coast. Enjoy Sun and Sand, visit Old Goa, with its Portugese-influenced architecture, take an evening cruise on River Mandowi, enjoy Goan delicacy with home grown Fenny made of Cashew nut.

Day 21Goa - Mumbai – Fly Out

Today Fly to Mumbai. Half day tailor made city tour and in time transfer to Mumbai airport for International flight.

Day 22Departure

Transfer to the international airport for your flight home.
